Childhood. 3/07/1964: Marriage of Daniel Clearwater and Rachel Cavendish. 1/09/1976: Penelope Clearwater born. 1/08/1982: First display of magical abilities. Penelope wanted to stay up later and finish the story which she’d been reading (slowly) aloud but it had been put on a high shelf to tempt her to try and sleep. Somehow the box found its way into her hands and the first her parents knew of it was the sound of Penny giggling to herself at the ‘magic’ book and reading the tale aloud, stuttering over some of the longer words. Hogwarts. 1/09/1987: Penelope's 11th birthday and first day at Hogwarts. The hat barely touched her head before proclaiming her a “Ravenclaw”. That night Penny realised she had left her bear at home and cried to sleep. 2/09/1987: Penelope’s bear “Rusty” arrives by post and it takes her nearly two hours to crack the code to get into the common room. 02/09/1989: Begins starting to study for her O.W.L.'s. Arithmancy classes with Percy Weasley commence. 04/08/1992: Penelope receives her Prefects letter. 09/05/1992: Percy Weasley finally asks her out. 15/05/1992: Penny has her first kiss. Unfortunately things do not go quite according to plan and she ends up bumping her nose against Percy's. Summer 1992: Penny receives her O.W.L results: 5 – O’s 4 E’s and 2 A’s. Summer 1992: Percy and Penny begin writing to each other over the course of the summer. His owl Hermes becomes just as familiar as her own Manto. 08/05/1993: Penny is petrified by the Basilik. 30/05/1993: Penny is unpetrified. 02/09/1993: Penelope begins studying for her N.E.W.T's 14/04/1994: Penelope breaks up with Percy. 28/06/1994: Penelope graduates from Hogwarts and reaffirms her friendship with Percy. Moves back home for the summer. Post Hogwarts. 11/08/1994: Begins working at Flourish and Blotts. 12/12/1994: Penelope begins a relationship with Simon Jones, the nephew of her parents neighbours. They become engaged. 17/05/1995: Penelope leaves for Europe after a tearful farewell from her family at the apparition point. Simon does not come to see her off as she chose the trip over his ring. 05/1995 : Penelope travels around Europe, sending her friends and family postcards, letters and the occasional gift. She meets a girl named Aveline whilst working in a bar in Orleans and the two become friends – and then lovers. Penny falls in love with her but eventually she and Aveline break up, with the elder girl returning to Paris to train as a teacher. 19/01/1997: Penny begins a job with the ‘Antiquities and Preservation Department’ at Gringotts but fails to find job satisfaction. 16/07/1997: Begins an entry level position as a wardsmith. 13/10/1997: Penelope's father and sister are killed in a DE attack on Muggle London 18/05/1998: The Battle of Hogwarts takes place. After The Battle. 03/07/1998: Penelope – drunk and feeling lonesome – decides to try her hand at writing one of the trashy romance novels she’s been reading since Hogwarts. Eventually she sends it off to the publishers where it is accepted. 05/09/1998: After a headache inducing amount of edits, ‘Dorothy L’Amours’ debut novel arrives in Flourish and Blotts. Penny knocks the display down twice because her hands are shaking so much. To everyones surprise – especially hers – they sell out. Very fast. Witch Weekly calls it a ‘salaciously good read’. 30/10/1998: Penny begins writing her second novel. She agrees to write more novels under the strict instructions that her publishers never, ever reveal who is behind Dorothy L’Amour. The lore that begins to build up around the unknown author only intensifies her appeal. 22/12/1998: As a treat to herself, Penny buys her small flat in Chelsea so her siblings can visit regularly. 04/06/1999: With the success of her novels and after signing a five year contract with the Publishers, Penny takes her money and plans to invest it in purchasing a ramshackle empty building in Hogsmeade and turning it into Once Told Tales . 07/10/1999: Her mother continues to live in the house Penny grew up on (on her grandfathers estate) Cornwall. Penny and her siblings visit regularly.
